QPlace turns something you say in plain language into real places to go and plans you can follow. To do that it needs your words and roughly where you are — and almost nothing else. This Privacy Policy explains what the app collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
QPlace (the “App”) is made by Reconchille Studios (“Reconchille Studios”, “we”, “us” or “our”), an independent app studio operated by an individual developer based in Türkiye. For the purposes of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), Reconchille Studios is the data controller for the personal data described in this Policy.
You can reach us any time at info@reconchillestudios.com or via www.reconchillestudios.com.
QPlace keeps as little as it can. Your sessions and saved plans never leave your iPhone, apart from the six durable preferences described in section 4. What we do send to a server, we send because the app cannot answer you without it: what you asked, roughly where you are, and those six.
Every collection described below was written against what the app actually does — not against a template.
When you send a prompt, the App calls our backend with:
Our backend passes your prompt and location to Google Gemini to interpret what you asked for, and queries the Google Places API for the real places, opening hours and photos that come back. Event listings come from Ticketmaster. We do not attach your name, email address or account to these requests.
We keep short-lived caches of responses, so that the same question does not cost a fresh lookup, along with per-device and global request counters. We do not build a profile of you from your prompts, and we do not sell or share them for advertising.
You only need an account in order to subscribe. Signing in creates one record:
| Field | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| User ID | generated at sign-up |
| Email address | you type it, or Apple provides it |
| Created date | sign-up |
| Subscription status, product and expiry | RevenueCat, via Apple |
That record lives in our Supabase project hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. Nothing else about you is stored there — not your prompts, not your locations, not your plans.
If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email address, we receive Apple’s private-relay address and never see your real one.
Payment is handled entirely by Apple, through your Apple Account. We never see your card, and Apple does not give us your payment details.
We use RevenueCat to tell us whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your QPlace user ID and the subscription’s state from Apple. Their privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy. We do not use purchase data for advertising.
QPlace asks for your location only while you are using it, and only after explaining why. There is no background location tracking.
You can decline: the App will ask you to name a city instead, and everything else keeps working. You can change your mind at any time in iOS Settings, or through Settings inside the App.
Coordinates are sent with a search so that we can find what is actually near you. They are not stored against your account.
The microphone is live only while you hold the voice button. Your speech is transcribed using Apple’s speech recognition on iOS; depending on your device and the language you speak, iOS may perform that recognition on Apple’s servers rather than on the device itself. We receive only the resulting text, and only then as a prompt. We never store audio.
The App subscribes to MetricKit, Apple’s built-in diagnostics framework. Crash and hang reports are written to the device’s log so that they can be read during development.
There is no third-party analytics, no advertising SDK, and no cross-app tracking of any kind. QPlace does not use the device advertising identifier (IDFA) and therefore does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, because it does not track you.
| Who | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Gemini, Places) | prompt text, coordinates | to interpret the ask and find real places |
| Ticketmaster | city / area | event listings |
| Supabase | account record; your prompt and coordinates in transit, and the short-lived response caches | hosting our backend, database and sign-in |
| Resend | email address, sign-in code | delivering sign-in emails |
| RevenueCat | user ID, subscription state | to know whether you are subscribed |
| Apple | purchase, sign-in, speech, and the coordinates sent for reverse geocoding | payment, Sign in with Apple, dictation, turning coordinates into a neighbourhood name |
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising or cross-context behavioural targeting. We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and of the service.
Your account record is stored in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). The providers listed in section 10 operate internationally, and the limited data they receive may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where that involves personal data leaving the EEA, the UK or Türkiye, the transfer relies on the provider’s standard contractual clauses or another approved safeguard.
Settings → Delete account. It removes your account record and everything QPlace stored on the device, immediately and permanently. There is no waiting period and no recovery.
An active subscription is billed by Apple, so cancel it separately in the App Store — deleting your account or the App does not cancel it.
Depending on where you live, you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable form. Most of it you can do yourself in Settings. For anything else, write to info@reconchillestudios.com and we will respond within the period the law allows.
If you are in the EU or the UK, our legal bases are: contract for your account and subscription; legitimate interest for keeping the service running and free of abuse; and consent for location and microphone access, which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are in Türkiye, the equivalent rights under KVKK apply and the same address reaches us. If you are in California, note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
QPlace is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age set by your country, such as 16 in parts of the European Economic Area), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Traffic between the App and our backend is encrypted in transit. Your sign-in session is stored in the iOS Keychain, and your sessions and saved plans are protected by your device’s own security: your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and the data protection built into iOS. We recommend keeping a device passcode enabled.
No method of storage or transmission is ever completely risk-free, but keeping your conversations and plans on your device — and off our servers — removes whole categories of risk.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top, and say so in the App if the change is material. Please review it from time to time.
